Reading odds

Most accounts let you switch the odds format in settings. Decimal is the simplest to work with: your total return equals your stake multiplied by the decimal odds — stake included.

FormatExampleReading it
Decimal2.50Stake × 2.50 = total return
Fractional3/2Win 3 units per 2 staked, plus stake back
American+150Win 150 on a 100 stake, plus stake back

Betting responsibly

Odds favor the book over the long run by design. Set a staking budget before you start, avoid chasing a loss with a bigger bet, and treat betting as entertainment, not income. More tools on the responsible gambling page.

Casino vs. sportsbook

How betting differs from casino play

If you're used to Pin-Up's casino side, sports betting runs on a different rhythm: outcomes take minutes to hours to resolve rather than seconds, and your own research (form, injuries, head-to-head record) can inform a decision in a way that has no equivalent in a slot spin. That said, the same bankroll discipline applies either way — the house edge is built into the odds just as it's built into a slot's RTP.

Bet types

Common bet types, explained

Bet typeWhat it means
1X2 (match result)Betting on a home win, draw, or away win
Over/UnderBetting on total goals or points above or below a set number
HandicapA virtual head start or deficit applied to one side before the result counts
Both teams to scoreBetting on whether both sides score at least once
Accumulator / comboMultiple selections combined into one bet — all must win for a payout
Bankroll

Staking discipline for sports betting

A common approach is flat staking: risking the same small percentage of your bankroll — often 1–3% — on every bet, regardless of how confident you feel. This doesn't improve your odds on any individual bet, but it prevents one bad week from wiping out a bankroll built up over many bets, which is where most losses actually come from in practice.

Sustainable habits

  • Fixed stake size, not a percentage of "how confident" you feel.
  • Tracking results over time, wins and losses both.
  • Treating a losing streak as normal variance, not a signal to bet bigger.

Patterns that drain a bankroll

  • Increasing stakes to recover a previous loss.
  • Betting on unfamiliar leagues just because odds look attractive.
  • Placing live bets impulsively without checking the odds shift.

Sports betting questions

Is Pin-Up Bet the same account as Pin-Up Casino?

Yes — one registration, one login and one balance cover both the casino and the sportsbook.

What sports are covered?

Football is the largest market, alongside basketball, tennis, volleyball, esports and dozens more — each with pre-match and, where available, live in-play markets.

What does live betting mean in practice?

You place bets after kickoff, with odds updating continuously based on what's happening in the match. Odds move fast — confirm your selection before it shifts.

Can I cash out before a match ends?

On many eligible bets, yes — cash out settles for a partial return before the event finishes. Availability depends on the specific bet and event.

What's a bet slip / booking code?

A shareable code for a bet slip you've built but not yet placed — useful for sending a combination to someone else to confirm or copy before staking.

What does "each way" mean?

Two bets in one: part on a specific outcome (e.g. to win), part on a broader placed condition — common in racing and golf markets where offered.

Why did my odds change right before I confirmed?

Live odds update continuously based on match events and betting volume. If a shift is significant, many platforms ask you to accept the new odds before the bet goes through.

Before you bet

A five-point check before confirming a slip

  1. Confirm the odds format you're reading (decimal, fractional, American).
  2. Check the stake, not just the potential return shown next to it.
  3. For combos, confirm every leg is the market you actually intended.
  4. For live bets, glance at the current score and time before confirming — odds lag reality by a few seconds.
  5. Know your cash-out option, if any, before the match starts.
